Built in 1986, Burton Place was originally known as Worthington Walk Shopping Centre – one of many local facilities owing its name to the town’s rich brewing heritage. Following a major refurbishment, the centre became known as Burton Place Shopping Centre in 1999.
At this time, the major national homeware retailer Wilkinson’s opened in Burton Place. Aside from Wilkinson’s and the recent arrival of Home Bargains, all tenants have now been in the centre for over ten years – a testament to its ongoing popularity!
